| Phenylethyl resorcinol is an excellent skin whitening agent. As one of the strongest tyrosinase inhibitors reported, its inhibiting effect is 22 times higher than that of kojic acid and 50 times stronger than that of arbutin. It can effectively inhibit the melanin synthesis activity of B16V cells, and its inhibiting effect is 210 times higher than that of kojic acid. It can also improve uneven skin color and reduce skin pigmentation caused by ultraviolet radiation. Besides, it is an excellent antioxidant with better oxidation resistance than vitamin E and vitamin C.
